WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHOOSE TO VOTE BY MAIL OR ABSENTEE?

Apply for your ballot here or contact the county election office in your county of residence.

Your application will be processed and, once approved, a mail-in ballot will be sent to you. You can check the status of your application and ballot here.

Follow all instructions when filling out your ballot. Carefully fill in the bubbles, and don’t make marks anywhere they don’t belong on the page. Place your ballot in the secrecy envelope, and then put the secrecy envelope into the official envelope. Be sure to sign the declaration. Missing any of these steps can result in your ballot being disqualified.

Make sure your ballot is returned as soon as possible to ensure it is received on time and counted. Your ballot MUST BE postmarked no later than Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. but I would strongly encourage you to return it earlier to be sure. If you choose to return your ballot in person, it must be done by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, to the county election office.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHOOSE TO VOTE IN PERSON?
Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3. If you are voting there for the first time, be sure to bring a photo or non-photo ID. If you’re not sure where to go to vote in person, click here.
