PASSHE Integration Plan Update

At a joint hearing of the House Appropriations and House Education committees earlier this week, lawmakers had the opportunity to question Daniel Greenstein, chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). The hearing focused on the system's ongoing integration of universities in the western part of the state and here in the northeast, including Mansfield University. Rep. Clint Owlett posed some questions about the impact of the integration on student scholarships at Mansfield and the university's financial status.

During a meeting of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee yesterday, Rep. Clint Owlett took the opportunity to raise the issue of empowering land owners to clear gravel bars and other debris out of our creeks. This has a negative impact on water quality in the bay, and more importantly for farmers and landowners in our region, it ties their hands on taking the steps necessary to protect against damaging and potentially dangerous flooding.
