HARRISBURG – Reps. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) and Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford) offered the following response to Gov. Josh Shapiro’s $53.26 billion state budget proposal delivered Tuesday during a joint session of the General Assembly. The plan represents a $2.72 billion, or 5.4%, increase over the current year’s spending.
HARRISBURG –Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23), Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20), Rep. Tina Pickett (R-110) and Rep. Clint Owlett (R-68) announced a recent $3,005,018 investment in the R.J. Corman Railroad Company in Bradford and Wyoming Counties for its Lehigh Tie Project. Funding was awarded through Pennsylvania’s Rail Transportation Assistance (RTAP) and Rail Freight Assistance (RFAP) programs.

WHAT: A group of dads – who also serve as state lawmakers – are leading a call for action on legislation to protect the rights of all daughters to compete on a level playing field in sports. The Dads Defending Daughters legislation, House Bill 1849, was introduced last month and would require public school entities and public institutions of higher education to ensure their sports activities are designated as male, female or coed, and expressly prohibit biological males from competing in teams or sports designated for females.
