Owlett to Host Game Commission Night Sept. 6 in Wellsboro

HARRISBURG – Rep. Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford/Potter) is hosting a Game Commission Night on Thursday, Sept. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at the Wellsboro Firemans Annex in Wellsboro.

The event will share information with area hunters and landowners about the Pennsylvania Game Commission and what it is doing to preserve Pennsylvania’s wildlife.

“This will be a great, family-friendly event with a lot of information available on some of the state’s top wildlife and other commission-related issues,” said Owlett. “I encourage those interested to come out and join us for this special event.”

Expert-led presentations will include:

• Land Manager Rodney Mee: The power and effects of a controlled burn.
• State Game Commission Warden Rob Minnich: How to present yourself when approached by a state game warden.
• Information and Education Supervisor Mike Steingraber: Chronic Wasting Disease and how it’s affecting the deer population.
• PA Game Commission Board Member Charlie Fox: The future of the PA Game Commission.

The presenters will also answer questions from the audience following the presentations.

Refreshments will be provided. The Wellsboro Firemans Annex, which is located at East Avenue in Wellsboro, will open its doors at 5:30 p.m.
