Owlett Invites Area Seniors to Fraud Prevention Seminar
WELLSBORO – Rep. Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford) is joining forces with the Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna/Tioga Area Agency on Aging and PA Link to provide a scam prevention seminar geared to area seniors.

The hour-long session, “Popular Scams and How to Avoid Them,” will be held on Thursday, April 4, from 10-11 a.m. at the Tioga County Fairgrounds, 2258 Charleston Road, Wellsboro.

“Unfortunately, technology has made it much easier for scammers to succeed in steeling people’s identities and their life savings,” Owlett said. “This seminar can help you better identify potential scams before falling victim to them.”

The presentation will be given by George Dillman of the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities. The program will focus on stopping people from being victimized by outlining the tactics commonly used by scammers, what to look for and how to avoid them.

Registration is required and may be made through Owlett’s office online at RepOwlett.com or by phone at 570-724-1390; or by contacting the Area Agency on Aging at 1-800-982-4346 or 570-265-6121.
