House Bill 156 would give courts the option to permit hearsay statements concerning violent or sexual offenses against children when the victim is 16 years of age or under (rather than 12 or under in current law). Rep. Bonner is a former prosecutor and shares some great insights about the challenges of ensuring justice in cases involving child victims and how a change in this law would help.
